Rear Commodore
In the absence of both, the Commodore and Vice Commodore, the Rear Commodore assumes the duties of both absent Officers. The Rear Commodore supervises the functions of the Finance, Long Range Planning, House and Basin Committees and discharges all of the duties required by the Bylaws and performs duties as delegated by the Board of Directors.
Tom grew up in Bradenton, but moved away in the 80’s to pursue his bachelor’s degree while serving in the Air Force. During his eight years of service, he graduated from Campbell University, NC, with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. In 1999 he left the Air Force and returned to Bradenton with his wife, Paula, and stepson Patrick who is now attending the University of South Florida in Tampa. Tom has been in the financial services business since 2000, and he currently works as an Investment Associate at Merrill Lynch in downtown Bradenton. Paula volunteers as a Guardian-ad-Litem for children, and she has a professional career with code enforcement at Sarasota Water Utilities. You can find Tom sailing his J/24 “Silver Streak” in the weekly river races, or on the occasional day sail out to Egmont Key with Paula. They also enjoy visiting as many reciprocating yacht and country clubs as possible.
